1. These terms
This website is operated by the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA). By using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
How we handle personal information is covered separately, in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. What this site is for
It exists to share information about APVIA, our work, our members and partners, our events, and the solar industry across the Asia Pacific. We publish it in good faith and take care to keep it accurate, but it is general information, not professional, legal, financial, engineering or investment advice. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for a decision that matters — take your own advice.
Figures, market data and policy summaries reflect our understanding at the time of writing and may date. Pages are not necessarily reviewed after publication.
3. Using the site
You agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or in breach of anyone else's rights;
- submit false information through any form, register for an event as somebody else, or make a pledge you have no authority to make;
- submit anything defamatory, abusive, obscene, or infringing;
- attempt to gain access to the administrative area, any account, or any part of our systems or data you are not entitled to;
- interfere with the site's operation, whether by automated request volume, injected code, or anything else;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or contact details from the site.
We may withdraw access, remove a submission or cancel a registration if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.
4. Events, registration and certificates
Some events on our calendar take registrations; others are announcements you can simply attend, and carry no form at all. Details, dates and venues can change, and an event may be postponed or cancelled. We will tell registered attendees when we can, but we are not liable for costs you incur in reliance on an event going ahead as listed — travel and accommodation included.
Registration is a request, not a guaranteed place. The Secretariat confirms attendance, and may decline or withdraw a registration.
Where we issue a certificate, it records that you attended a particular APVIA event on a particular date. It is not a qualification, accreditation or endorsement of any kind, and it does not certify competence. Certificates are issued to confirmed attendees only, and we may withhold or revoke one obtained through inaccurate information.
Events run by partner organisations are governed by that organisation's own terms. Registering through a link we publish is a contract with them, not with us.
5. The solar pledge
A pledge is a voluntary, non-binding statement of intent to install solar capacity. It creates no contract, no obligation and no entitlement, on either side. We do not verify pledged capacity, and publishing a total does not mean we have confirmed the individual commitments behind it.
Only the country and the capacity of each pledge appear in the public totals. Your name, organisation and contact details do not.
6. The newsletter
Subscribing is optional and free, and you may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any issue. We send updates about APVIA's work, policy, the regional market and our events. We do not send advertising on behalf of other organisations, and we do not pass your address to anyone for their own marketing.
7. Content and trade marks
The content of this site — text, design, graphics, photographs, logos and the arrangement of them — belongs to APVIA or to the people who licensed it to us, and is protected by copyright and other laws.
You may read, download and print pages for your own information or for non-commercial use inside your organisation, provided you keep any notices intact. Quoting us in reporting, research or commentary with clear attribution and a link is welcome. Republishing substantial parts of the site, using our material commercially, or presenting it as your own is not, without our written permission.
The APVIA name and logo are ours. Do not use them in a way that suggests we endorse, sponsor or are affiliated with you when we are not. Member and partner logos belong to those organisations and appear with their permission.
8. Links to other sites
We link to partners, members, event hosts and sources because they are useful, not because we have vetted them. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their handling of your information. A link is not an endorsement.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the site up and working, but we do not promise it will be available uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including an event listing or a form, without notice.
10. Liability
The site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything published here.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Changes
We may revise these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date below tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and the courts of the Philippines have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms, about content on the site, or about anything you think we have got wrong: the APVIA Secretariat, APVIAPhilippines@apviaph.org.
